Adam Butler was born in London on 30th June 1990. His first karting experience was on his 12th birthday at Revolution Karting in Mile End East London. From here he went to Silverstone Kart School, where he obtained his ‘Kart National B’ competition race licence.

In July 2005 he began competing in Junior TKM at The Hunts Kart Racing Club, Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. He won a First Place Novice trophy at the October meeting.

January 2006 saw the beginning of his first full season of competition in Junior TKM. His progress was impressive, finishing 4th in the Championship, narrowly missing third place.

In July 2006 Adam had been assessed and selected by BMW UK to attend the Formula BMW License Course, in Valencia Spain. During this course he passed his ARDS (Association Of Racing Driver Schools) test and acquired his ‘Race National B’ Competition Licence, having just turned 16 and not even driven a car on the road !

Adam then entered and competed in the Formula BMW UK Championship 2006. Due to limited budget, Adam was only able to take part in 5 of the 9 rounds. His performance continued to be impressive despite not having the same track time as his peers and competitors. Upon his return to the Championship in August at Brands Hatch, he drove faultlessly in his first ever wet race and finished 13th, just outside the top ten!

Adam is currently preparing for the Formula BMW World Final 2007, which takes place in Valencia, Spain, between the 22nd and 25th November.

Adam intends to compete in the 2008 season, which sees Formula BMW UK, join forces with the German series to form, Formula BMW Europe.
